Working with a coach can provide an athlete with a structured and progressive path to training. Rather than following a generic plan yours will be a personal program that fits with your time schedule and goals.

‘Responders and non-responders’ is the fancy way of saying not everyone improves in the same way. Your training, movement, recovery and mental approach to racing is specific to you. Your coach will help to discover and then understand what works for you and how best to apply that to your progression. 

Our coaching team are experienced and qualified to help runners towards their goals. Having worked with athletes from 400m up to Ultra Trail.

Working with the Final Surge training app we provide day to day contact with our athletes as well as all data collected from your running watch device.

Your goal can be leading to a specific race event, just to begin running or a block of focused work. We recommend at least 12 weeks of structured training to target your goals, and to aid this our prices work on a 4 week cycle.

We only work with a maximum of 12 athletes per coach at a time. So plan ahead if you have a goal in the near future.

Coaching with The Team at The Active Foot Company

In person & virtual

Mid distance (5k - 10k)

12-16 week program, updated every 4 weeks. Online/app based program with watch data transfer, post session comments and weekly feedback with your coach.

Long distance (20k - 42k)

Half marathon and marathon training for 18-20 weeks. Online/app based planners. Data uploads, session feedback, weekly feedback with coach. Nutrition and recovery information.

Ultra running (42k +)

Going ultra long. Plans based upon individual goals, updated every month. Data transfer, feedback and weekly contact with your coach.

Trail, road or mountain based event goals as well as training block specific work.

Return to training (post injury)

Working with your physio team our coaches can help you on your path back to full training. Monthly plans and reviewed every fortnight to manage training load, recovery and fitness improvements.
