Description
The Hoka Cielo X1 3.0 is the "tip-of-the-spear" super shoe, engineered to deliver Hoka’s lightest and most propulsive ride to date. Designed specifically for road racing—from 5K sprints to the full Marathon—this elite racer combines maximal energy return with a weight-saving minimalist design to help you smash your personal bests.
Propulsive Carbon Innovation
The Cielo X1 3.0 features a refined, winged carbon fibre plate sandwiched between two layers of ultra-responsive PEBA foam. This updated construction provides a snappy, trampoline-like feel while maintaining the inherent stability Hoka is known for, ensuring you stay efficient even when fatigue sets in during the final miles.
Aggressive Early Stage Meta-Rocker™: Tuned for a faster turnover, the rocker geometry encourages a smooth, rolling transition that propels you forward with every stride.
Ultralight Leno Weave Upper: A high-performance, breathable knit textile that provides an elite, locked-in fit without adding unnecessary weight.
Enhanced Heel Geometry: Refined for the 3.0 model to increase stability and comfort during high-speed cornering and landings.
Who is this shoe for?
The Marathoner Chasing a PB: This is a long-distance specialist. It features a legal-limit stack height (approx. 38mm-39mm) and a dual-layer PEBA foam midsole. It is designed to save your legs over 26.2 miles by absorbing massive amounts of shock and returning that energy in the final miles.
Foot Strike Style: Assertive Midfoot & Forefoot Strikers. The shoe’s geometry is built around an aggressive MetaRocker™. It is specifically tuned for runners who land on their midfoot or forefoot. Why? The rocker is so sharp that it "punishes" slow paces or heavy heel striking, which can feel unstable. If you run with an assertive, forward-leaning gait, the shoe provides a "sling-shot" effect.
Runners Who Prioritize "Bounce" over "Ground Feel:" If you like to feel the pavement, this isn't your shoe. The Cielo X1 3.0 is for runners who want a plush, springy sensation. It uses a newly designed winged carbon fibre plate that provides more stability than previous versions but remains focused on high-rebound propulsion.
Narrow-Footed Racers: The version 3.0 update features a new Leno Weave upper which is incredibly thin and breathable but offers a very snug, race-ready lockdown. It is less "roomy" than Hoka’s daily trainers (like the Gaviota or Clifton), making it ideal for those who want their foot perfectly "caged" during high-speed cornering.
Racing: Ideal for 5km - 42km road racing for competitive and experienced regular runners. The Cielo is a World Athletics approved racing shoe.
